PERCEPTION IS REALITY

‘Without Marketing, Coke Is Nothing but Syrup and Water’

This is an awesome marketing movie, I can say. This truly says, in marketing world nothing is true, all is about image “our perception is the reality”, we buy a product as per the image and it specially works in case of taste or can say food items and drink industry.

Exclude the negative sign called as “FUKK”, I can’t call it negative until unless it use as in negative sense. It’s for not negative sense it’s all about gaming the perception. 
This movie actually shows, how we people perceive a product and in marketing world everyone is fake and nothing is true, that’s why may be the name were fake till the movie end. You are making your unique image through your unique name. 

I attracted towards this movie as this movie taught me many life lessons like I can relate myself here – I have seen mainly INTROVERT and CREATIVE people are good in idea generating but they need to expose their ideas . like I am saying – I am sometimes quit bad in negotiating whereas I am good at creating ideas , that’s why most of my projects are knowledge based and idea based , I mostly attracted towards ideas than make it proper implementation but sometimes I poor in managing it that’s why I fail . So in marketing you have to sell yourself – no only your ideas and solution too, in marketing industry no position is permanent. Everything depends on your skills and ability to provide solution. In this movie the talent got true justice, hope my life also lighten like that but in a positive and growing order. 
Scat was good in creative and idea generating but poor in financially and implementing that’s why six take advantage of him to make her work done but after some days when he felt marking is totally a fake image, he left the job and start working honestly in as a rickshaw puller but later on he again pulled into that company. Finally he become succeed to generate new idea called KOK after FUKK even his idea was already stolen, his marketing campaign was so strong people can feel it from their heart. That’s called real marketing, if that don’t touch the heart of your customer.

Take this movie as a positive marketing point of view , although I can relate myself with SCAT as I am quite like that character as I am emotional as well as I can generate better ideas where as I poor in implementing that’s why I am trying to be good in that also , to make my weakness into strength . I believe if you have skill, you can reach up to top without fake it.
But it’s true, I can’t understand why “F” alphabet is so poor, everyone using it in negative sense even so powerful too like FAIL. 

1)   Mental depths of the creative geniuses of the world that touches upon the very framework that human society 
2)  The irony of the film lies in the marketing rules that Scat and six reveal in finely panned monologues throughout the picture, revealing the soullessness of the marketing industry after the themes are exemplified within their interactions. At one point Six even mentions that advertisers are researching how to recreate the feeling that humans get when they want something that they can’t have and being able to create a marketing ploy to mimic that to sell products. She cites an experiment in which testers were essentially tricked into thinking that they liked drinking urine to testify to the intensity of the psychological impact of visual branding and the way that marketing practices influence the brain and humans.
3)  Syrup is a metaphor for myriad lifestyle and product brands in our society today. Bandwagon syndrome you can say, if you will. Many people do these things not because they want to, but because it was sold to them. Do they want to do it?  
4)  What’s the overall marketing message of Syrup?
Image and perception are important in every aspect of marketing, but certainly not everything in life.
5)  Consumer behaviour irrespective to demographic 
The movie characterizes young American consumers as image-conscious and cynical.  Young American consumers have been image-conscious and cynical for quite some time. While it’s a business first and foremost.
Take the example of perfume or any energy drink.
6)  What do you think is more important, image or quality?
To a marketer, perception of quality is more important than quality because the majority of consumers will believe what they’re told before they make a decision for themselves. A good marketing campaign will give consumers the perception of quality even when there isn’t quality — and people will buy it. So I guess that may make perception and image a more powerful tool.
7)  What does this film say about our society?
We are consumers. We like to buy things even we can’t afford. We like to be told what to buy and when to buy it. Image is certainly important to our society. There is a lot of deception in the movie. There are good people and bad people in business. 
No matter what field you want to go into, always consider yourself a marketer, and never forget that you are your best product. Whether you like or not, how you market yourself will affect how you are portrayed in business and social environments.
8) What is”Guerrilla marketing “?
·        Guerrilla marketing helps the big business downsizing, decentralization, relaxation of government regulations, affordable technology, and a revolution in consciousness, people around the world are gravitating to small business in record numbers.
·        Small business failures are also establishing record numbers and one of the main reasons for the failures is a failure to understand marketing.
·        Guerrilla marketing has been proven in action to work for small businesses around the world. It works because it’s simple to understand, easy to implement and outrageously inexpensive.
·        Guerrilla marketing is needed because it gives small businesses a delightfully unfair advantage: certainty in an uncertain world, economy in a high-priced world, simplicity in a complicated world, marketing awareness in a clueless world.”
9)  Why they go for attack marketing?
Attack marketing is when firms that occupy second, third and lower ranks in the industry (called trailing firms) attack the leader and other competitors in an aggressive bid for further market share and behave as Market Challengers.
Once the objective is chosen, a general attack strategy has to be chosen. The different type of attack marketing strategies are:
•        Frontal attack – attacker matches the opponent’s product
•        Flank attack – fill the gaps which the leader has left
•       Encirclement attack – capture a wide slice of territory by launching a grand offensive on several fronts
•        By pass attack – bypassing the enemy all together to attack easier markets
•        Guerrilla attack – small and intermittent attacks

In this movie they go for Guerrilla attack to attract customers after they fail in fake death campaign or can say marketing. As it affect the image of the brand so they go for new brand image through KOK and they go for Guerrilla attack.

BOILER ROOM REALLY BOILS MY MIND

I really love this movie , I am writing about this as I feel so connected with the character - Seth Davis , although I am neither college dropout nor I am running business , still the ideas ,believes and family ethics I can relate with . I can’t sell , fooling my customers as I feel personally connected with my company and customers , I can’t do anything for profit but yes , I love to work hard but in the same time I also take care of values , ethics and people lives . That’s why I really care about my company than as a fresher’s job role I am going to put into.
Some points really touch my heart, I am sharing here –

Boiler Room is the story of Seth Davis, a young college drop-out, who is ambitious and hard-working. He runs an underground casino out of his off-campus apartment, when he is offered a position at an ‘off Wall Street’ stock brokerage firm that assures him he will be making a million dollars even before he finishes his third year with them. Seth slowly learns that things at work are not what they seem to be, and that the firm was a financial `chop shop’ which was willing to rip off (or was targeting!) common people just looking for good investments. Seth finds himself working for a firm which is being investigated by the Feds for violation of Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. In the end, Seth makes some good decisions which helps him do the right thing.   
The movie has a great message for today’s young people, many of who are willing to do anything to make a quick buck, especially now a days we don’t care about professions and business, as we want to earn more specially in case of business, who cares what are you doing but everyone wants to be milliner and have big flat house and cars no matters, it can break many houses like many scams happened in India and our day today life many illegal business in different sectors. But what I admired most about the movie was its treatment of the family background, how work ethics matters a lot and Seth’s relationship with his father, an honest federal judge who loves his son and wants him to do something good with his life. 
Some points I noted down for learning perspective as I am a upcoming fellow marketing personality , hope so , I can call myself a Budding entrepreneur in future but in right direction to earn money  - 
Speak your new reality into existence – 
When you are selling something you should make them feel so connected like a family member. In cold calling specially “Worlds are created through your words”. Your reality is created through your conversation. 
The conversations that you have with yourself, the conversations that you have with others and the conversations that others have about you.

Get a team and give them support, make them feel like that your new reality is possible – when you are built with a new belief system needs to be created to support the new reality that you’re enrolling them in. Once the seeds are planted, they’re nurtured by evidence that the new reality is already in existence. If you want to create success fast immerse your team in an environment where the new reality is already taking place.

I love this line but in a positive way as I also learnt money is everything but my family taught me ethics is first priority that’s why I stay back in some situations and take steps as per the situation and circumstances- “They say money can’t buy happiness? Look at the f***in smiling on my face. You want details fine….I drive a Ferrari, 355 Cabriolet. I have a ridiculous house in the South Fork. I have every toy you can possibly imagine. And best of all kids….I’m liquid.”

Respectful  “We expect everyone here to treat their co-workers with a certain level of respect.”
In order to succeed your life, you need to have passion, energy and be willing to be a multitasked. People often get turned off by the word work. It tends to be synonymous with pain. In some ways that could be true and you are not doing any kind of justices with your knowledge and work. No matter what you do there will always be some aspects of it that you don’t enjoy doing. The best way to create your own success is to do something that you love. When you love what you do the work comes easy and everything else you’re looking for follows.
There are lot of people stay in situations that they’re miserable in because they didn’t want to make the sacrifice to make things better for themselves even I am saying, I make many sacrifices related to my dream like my lost my friends to engage myself more in myself work, couldn’t celebrate family parties and missed many beautiful moments in my life but I know one day I going to get back all. We’re all guilty at one time or another, when we don’t give our 100% and expect more. Often in order to get better – things will need to get worst like now I really love my life as it taught me many worst life lessons which are helping me now. In order to speed up you will have to slow down (I can relate my present snare); in order to make more you will need to give more. It’s the nature of life. For every positive action there’s a negative reaction. If you want to improve your circumstances and take on more in life you’re going to have to lose parts of your current identity and give up some things about who you say you are in exchange for becoming the new person that you want to be. If you want membership into a new existence have to pay your dues first.

Truth of the matter is that most of us talk about living big but most of us really just want to be comfortable with minimal adversity. We resist our challenges instead of being interested in what lessons they have to offer. If the road to success was easy everybody would be successful.
A narrow path can only hold so many people.
“Go home and think about it, think about whether or not it’s really for you. If you decide it isn’t – it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s not for everyone….”

As a sells person , you prime duty is to collect information and have good knowledge about your product as well as your customer , so that you can close the deal as to close the deal you have to convince better -



They make you think then convince you with positive aspect or wining faith.

A great seller or marketer don’t show himself /herself as a sells man, be wise how to sell your product, don’t be direct- 




Winning the trust and make the customer think that they can able to take the decision without taking the help of anyone especially from any woman as convincing a woman is quite difficult ;)
So there is a dialog in this movie – “Don’t pitch the bitch (Women)”




Doing business and selling is quite difficult for those who brown and brought up with ethical background, as sometimes it affects us and it make us detached from our company and profession. We start hating all those thing which we once love some much.




A Ethical family never let you die in poorly manner for money -




Realization is the greatest power –
Customer should not treated as only customer, they have also family and children, screw up them is screw up ourselves and our brand name . 





When you love your job too much and you have talent to go ahead, but you realize your labour is going in a negative way. Sometimes luck also plays a negative role in our lives.
